What are Horns of Satan ?
Al Olonzo (July 2012)
Prophecy about Aisha’s house and Satan’s Horns
Shia Muslims believe that the “horns of Satan” or the “head of Satan” emerged from Aisha’s house.
The Shias say that Aisha was one of the wives of the Holy Prophet, and she was a follower of Satan.
This claim is based on an interpretation of the Sunni Hadith from Bukhari.
The Shias say that Aisha was one of the wives of the Holy Prophet, and she was a follower of Satan.
This claim is based on an interpretation of the Sunni Hadith from Bukhari.
The Holy Prophet warned the Ummah against Aisha on several occasions.
Sahih Al Bukhari: vol 4, hadith 336:
“The Holy Prophet stood up and delivered a sermon, and
pointed to the house of Aisha, and said:
‘Fitna (trouble/sedition) is right here,’ saying three
times, ‘from where the side of the Satan’s head comes out’.”
pointed to the house of Aisha, and said:
‘Fitna (trouble/sedition) is right here,’ saying three
times, ‘from where the side of the Satan’s head comes out’.”
The words are “fa-ashaara nahwa maskani aisha” [Pointed towards the House of Aisha.]
In the above Hadith the Holy Prophet predicted that his wife Aisha will cause sedition among Muslims, and also that she will be seduced by Satan and wage the first civil war in the history of Islam.
This Hadith is also found in Sahih Muslim:
“The Holy Prophet emerged from the house of Aisha and said. ‘The Pivot of Disbelief is from here, where the Horns of Satan will rise’.”
Aisha is not alone the problem.
In another Hadith in Sahih Muslim it is said that the Holy Prophet was pointing towards the house of Hafsa (daughter of Umar).
In another Hadith in Sahih Muslim it is said that the Holy Prophet was pointing towards the house of Hafsa (daughter of Umar).
In the other tradition in Sahih Muslim, the Holy Prophet uses the phrase
"The Chief of Unbelief/Blasphemy (Kufr)" instead of "Fitna"
[Sahih Muslim, vol 4, p.2229).
"The Chief of Unbelief/Blasphemy (Kufr)" instead of "Fitna"
[Sahih Muslim, vol 4, p.2229).
The Holy Prophet meant that House of his wife Aisha would become the Source of Satan’s Horns.
The word “Fitnah” refers to turmoil which causes disunity in the ranks of the Muslim Ummah.
It was Aisha who started the Fitnah in the ranks of the Muslims by organizing an army against Ali. Aisha left her house in Medina with the intention of instigating an armed revolt against Ali. In the book Tareekh Al-Tabari, the events regarding the Battle of the Camel are recorded.
In fact, even before the Battle of Camel, the Muslim ranks had become split due to a Fatna instigated by Aisha. Aisha urged the insurgents to remove the third caliph Uthman. Uthman was killed his own home.
